Position: Part Time Overnight Youth Worker

Organization: 49th Street Youth Shelter

The 49th Street Youth Shelter is looking for a Part Time Overnight Youth Worker. The successful applicant will obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, appraise client’s needs or eligibility for specific services, assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, provide suicide and crisis intervention, resolve conflict situations, supervise activities of clients, liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients, maintain program statistics of evaluation and research.

 

Additional Skills:

Administrative and Office Activities, Research techniques, housekeeping activities, Food Preparation, Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Requirements:

Completion of High School, Post Secondary diploma or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or a related field of Human Services.

Completed CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate, Current Criminal Record check, and Child Intervention Record Check. Current Certificate in or to obtain during Probationary Period; Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Aboriginal Awareness Training, Cultural Diversity Training, and Medication Administration Training.
